Jenna Frakowski, DO
Hi there!
I’m Dr. Jenna Frakowski. We are honored to have you visit our website. First and foremost, I’m a believer — I believe I was called by the Father, redeemed by the blood of his son Jesus, and I’m continually sanctified by the Holy Spirit. My greatest joy is being a wife to my Practice Manager, Brad; and a Mommy to 2 awesome boys, who you may hear in the background of any phone conversation. I love playing outside with them and doing lots of reading to them.
After I went through some poor medical experiences as a young child, it sparked interest in helping people through a “healthcare profession,” because I wanted to be different. Fast-forward some time, I was truly called into medicine during my college years, when I went on a 6-month medical mission trip. I grew up in rural Wayne County, then completed my undergraduate degree at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Then, I went on to get my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree at Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) in Pikeville, Kentucky - an institution that encourages training in primary care for rural areas. Osteopathic medicine, specifically, has always been the best fit for me, as I’ve always felt a holistic approach was the best kind. Then, I completed my residency in Family Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment at Michigan State University Statewide Campus System (MSUSCS)- Hamilton Community Health Network (an FQHC)/Hurley Medical Center (a Level 1 trauma center and Children’s hospital). I spent extra clinical rotations in obstetrics, newborn nursery, and NICU — I wanted to be able to feel really confident in helping mothers and children.
Post-training, I’ve worked in rural Holmes County since 2019, both in primary care and hospital medicine. I continue to hold the position of Medical Director of Nursery Services at Pomerene Hospital. Since 2020, I’ve done much more extensive training in Integrative Medicine, as well as Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine. I love calling this area my home, and I love being submerged in the community in which I work!
I have felt that the “typical” healthcare model in the United States doesn’t allot enough time for GOOD primary care to patients, and it didn’t feel like I was able to truly help people, so I knew I needed to create my own medical practice. I needed a place I could practice patient-focused medicine the way God intended— this was the driver of opening Hosanna Family Medicine and Lactation. Listening to my patients is of upmost importance to me. I believe in TRUE informed consent. I have a more natural & integrative approach to medicine- finding the root cause of the issue— often recommending in-depth labs, lifestyle changes, vitamins, supplements, herbals, and removing chemicals/toxins from our everyday lives. I am excited about giving full-scope, unique, compassionate, quality healthcare to entire families.
